Umang – Bihar Dealer Meet, 2022 at The Ananta, Udaipur

Dealers & distributors are an integral part of the Captain family and once in a while they get together, let their hair down and simply unwind. The pandemic had taken a toll on such social events, and in this year March, around 200 dealers and distributors along with their families were taken to Udaipur for 3 days packed with dance, music, sports and unadulterated fun.

Day 1 saw guests arriving by chartered flights to Udaipur and taken to the sprawling and lavish Ananta, an enjoyable drive from the airport. Fun filled events started from the afternoon with high tea at Meena Bazaar where the invitees soaked in the wonderful outdoor weather at the lawn with folk dance, music and pop up shops with jutis, bags, bangles as well as a fortune teller, who drew quite a crowd. However the high point of the evening was Bollywood night at the banquets with star attraction Rodney and scintillating performances by accompanying dancers. The day ended with a lavish spread of dinner and eager anticipation for the coming day.

After the glamorous date with Rodney on the previous night, on the second day the invitees were taken for a visit to the Nathdwada city palace. It followed a boat ride on Pichola lake and the experience was simply wonderful. Truly morning shows the day, after a sumptuous lunch the eager anticipation for evening was Shaam e Mehfil with none less than Javed Ali. The enthralling performance touched the guests and before the music faded, it was time for Nautanki Night. Fun, frolic and music filled the night as the guests and their family members soaked in the electrifying performances. Of course a multicourse dinner that followed topped it all.

Action packed day three started with the Captain Premier League which saw the men sweating it out on the field. Divided into teams, the action on and off the field was filled with palpable excitement. And of course the star attraction was ex India team cricketer Harbhajan Singh. He came; he saw and virtually owned the field. Almost everyone joined in the massive cheering, outdoing the cheerleaders. There were prizes galore for top performers at the matches. And it was truly a privilege to receive them from Harbhajan. While the men got engrossed in cricket, the delightful ladies had an engaging time with Sneh Desai. The session on Women empowerment touched a chord with them. After the excitement of the cricket match and the intensity of the women empowerment session, Kaafila band entertained the guests before lunch. However, the biggest event possibly was the Awards night where the wonderful efforts of dealers and distributors throughout the year were recognized. As the applause gently died down, the night headed to a wonderful end with International night.
